The elemental concentration levels are generally found to be higher by a factor of 2–5 in the winter season as compared to the rainy season. The receptor model, employing the multivariate statistical techniques was applied to the acquired data set of elemental concentrations in order to assess the impact of relevant sources at the sampling site. Possible sources identified from this analysis are soil dust, refuse burning, field burning, exhaust from automobiles and smelter activity. date: 1996 date_type: published publication: Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms volume: 114 number: 3-4 publisher: Elsevier Science pagerange: 341-344 id_number: doi:10.1016/0168-583X(96)00208-X refereed: TRUE issn: 0168583X official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/0168-583X(96)00208-X related_url_url: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/0168583X9600208X related_url_type: pub citation: Bandhu, H.K. and Puri, Sanjiv and Shahi, J.S. and Mehta, D. and Garg, M.L. and Singh, Nirmal and Mangal, P.C. and Suri, C Raman and Swietlick, E. and Trehan, P.N.
