Entry No. - 1   [TOP]
PolysacDB ID2041
Carbohydrate NameO-polysaccharide   (Drugpedia)
Carbohydrate ClassLipopolysaccharide
MicrobePseudomonas aeruginosa Serotype O5   (NCBI Taxonomy)   (Drugpedia)
Basic StructureThe LPS consists of three regions, namely O-polysaccharide, core oligosaccharide and lipid A. The core region of LPS is divided into the outer core and inner core. The inner core region consists of 2-keto-3-deoxyoctonic acid (KDO), heptose, phosphate, and probably ethanolamine. The outer core region commonly contains D-glucose, L-rhamnose, D-galactosamine, and L-alanine. The O-antigens consist of a trisaccharide repeating unit which consists of two uronic acid derivatives and one N-acetyl fucosamine residue
BCSDB Structure1672
Proposed functionsN/A
Antigenic Nature used to produce antibodiesFormalin killed whole cells
Carrier NameNil
Conjugation MethodNil
AntibodiesMab MF15-4
Antibody type and classIgM
Assay SystemELISA, immunoblotting, ouchterlony immunodiffusion
Cross-reactivityThis Mab was specific to serotype O5
Proposed epitopesThe epitope consisted of N-acetyl fucosamine residues with an αglycosidic linkage and a minimum of six O repeats of serotype O5 polysaccharide
IEDB EpitopeN/A
Proposed UtilityThis Mab helps us shed some light on the nature of O-specific and common epitopes in the LPS of P. aeruginosa
