Method | A required amount of gelator peptide was taken in a screw-capped glass vial. Aqueous NaOH solution was then added into that glass vial. This resultant mixture was heated until the gelator molecules were dissolved completely, and this upon cooling at room temperature for 2 min gave a self-supported translucent hydrogel. |

Method | 1.0 mg of each peptide and equal molar of sodium carbonate to the peptide were first suspended in PBS buffer (pH = 7.4); the sodium carbonate was used to neutralize the terminal carboxylic acid of peptides. The suspensions were then heated to 80°C to form clear solutions. The gels would form after cooling back to room temperature within 3 min. |
