Almost all the labs in the Institute has computers (personal computers) and printers. These computers are connected to local area network (LAN) of the Institute. This LAN is connected to internet via personal earth station (PES 8000) which is capable of 64 kbps. Thus the staff of IMTECH can use the internet as well as computer resources in Institute from their desk. Institute have following type of network.

TCP/IP

Almost all computers in Institute including PC's have TCP/IP. TELNET, RLOGIN, FTP daemon are running on unix machines so that users can access these machines from any machine on internet. SMTP server is running on two machine to provide the email facility to the users at Institute.

Windows Networking

The computer resources on PC's with in institute are shared by using windows networking. These allow to share the printer and hardisk of computers.
