We have assembled and annotate 7.3-Mb genome sequence of Streptomyces gancidicus strain BKS 13-15, isolated from mangrove sediment samples, collected from Bhitar Kanika Mangrove Reserve Forest, Odissha, India. Draft genome of strain Streptomyces gancidicus strain BKS 13-15 consists of 7,300,479 bp with 72.6% G+C content, 6,631 protein coding genes and 71 RNAs.

Genome sequencing

The genome of strain BKS 13-15 was sequenced using Illumina Hi-Seq 1000 technology. A total of 75,080,804 high quality, vector filtered reads (~1011 times coverage) were used for assembly with SOAPdenovo v1.05 (at hash length of 79) followed by GapCloser (at hash length 17) software.

Genome annotation

Genome annotation was done by RAST server.
